In the heart of Timrarni, Harda district, lived Vinayak Vishwanath Bapat, a patriot and visionary. His grandson’s story is one of inspiration, shaped by Vinayak’s values: courage, simplicity, honesty, and selflessness.

Vinayak, a Gandhian at heart, became a primary school headmaster, emphasizing education’s importance. When Mahatma Gandhi visited Harda, Vinayak sought his blessings for his newborn granddaughter, naming her “Khadi” at Gandhi’s suggestion.

After losing her mother at birth, Khadi (later known as Dr. Shanta Gokhale) was raised by Vinayak and his wife, Saraswati. She grew up to embody her family’s legacy, dedicating her life to serving others. As an Ayurvedic expert with “Matru Seva Sangh,” Dr. Shanta provided selfless medical care across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Influenced by her uncles, Dr. Prabhakar and Narayan, and her ancestor, Dr. Ganpati Vinayak, Dr. Shanta’s life was marked by unwavering commitment and humility. Her family’s financial struggles didn’t deter Vinayak from instilling values of hard work and authenticity.
