Dr. Pawan Kumar’s novel explores the tragic plight of the Rohingya community in Myanmar, particularly the Hindu minority who faced brutal persecution. Following the 1982 Myanmar Citizenship Law, Rohingyas were denied citizenship, sparking unrest. While initially united, the community was torn apart by religious extremism introduced by radical jihadists from neighboring countries. This led to violent attacks on Hindu Rohingyas on August 25, 2017—mass killings, destruction of temples, and forced conversions of women through abduction and coercive marriages.

The novel features powerful characters like Rubina (formerly Jaya Sharma) and Dr. Meenakumari, both of whom are doctors and survivors. Rubina, once a kidnapped victim, now fights for justice and the return of abducted women with the help of her husband, Dr. Salim. Meenakumari, an orphaned victim of the massacre, dedicates her life to supporting other displaced women.

Several compassionate individuals across faiths—Hindus and Muslims alike—rise against the inhuman acts of forced conversions. Characters like Ganesh Prasad, Sheila, Ramdas, Maulana Rahmani, and others symbolize interfaith solidarity and humanity.

Inspired by works like Mrignayni by Vrindavan Verma, this novel sheds light on real issues while offering a ray of hope and advocating for communal harmony. It stands as a beacon for social unity amidst ongoing challenges related to the Rohingya crisis in India.
