About The Author 

Prof. Anil Kumar, a renowned expert in disaster management and climate resilience, holds advanced degrees in Environmental Science (Ph. D.), Hydrology (IIT Roorkee) (M.E.), and Disaster Mitigation (M.Sc.). A Gold Medalist in Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s level), he is currently a Professor of Practice at NITTTR Kolkata, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.He has served in key roles, including Senior Advisor at BSDMA, Director at Adamas University, and Head of the World Bank’s TEQIP-III project for Uttar Pradesh. An ISTE Fellow (2024), Prof. Kumar has authored notable works like Disaster Management: Principles and Practices and Water Security and Ecosystem Balance, establishing himself as a leader in climate resilience and disaster risk reduction.
